• Apply only on an established lawn (6 months + old)
• Apply our fertiliser at the recommended rate by hand when wearing a glove or spreader
• Water the fertiliser in until it dissolves
• Keep kids and pets away from the lawn during application and until the granules dissolve
• Remove / water off any footwear you were wearing during the application of the fertiliser to avoid any risk of damage to newly laid patios / stone flag flooring
Our Feed, Weed and Moss Killer is the complete fertiliser solution for a tired and weathered lawn that is being held hostage by weeds and moss! This fertiliser acts in three noticeable steps – moss shrinks and dies off and can be easily raked away and weeds quickly disappear by being killed at the root. Existing grass becomes vibrantly and instantly green, revealing areas ready for reseeding. After application, we recommend waiting 2 weeks before planning to seed . This ensures your fertiliser has adequate time to take effect and complete its full process – killing off moss and weeds, and sufficiently feeding your lawn. Patches will appear where moss and weeds have been killed off, these areas will require reseeding. This product should only be used on an established lawn (6 months + old)
If you are overseeding a lawn you will require the following amount of grass seed:
Simply enter the length and width of the area, to calculate how much you need.
• Allow the product to work over two weeks before overseeding patches
This product will come in a ‘Coburns’ branded bag. Coburns is our sister amenity seed and fertiliser brand.
Please note this fertiliser can scorch your grass blades, so remember to water it off or apply just before the rain is due. Avoid application during very hot periods. We recommend applying on cooler evenings or overcast days. For more information on all things fertiliser, read our Fertiliser FAQs.
Grass will rapidly green up following application
Moss will turn black as it dies. Any discolouration of the lawn is temporary. Re-treatment may be necessary for heavy infestation, or if moss returns.
Brush off granules immediately from hard surfaces, paving, decking, clothing and footwear to avoid staining/discolouration. Do not wash as may cause staining.
After 7 DAYS the grass will become greener.
To summarise, steps to take for lawn feeding include:
For spring feeding, use a product containing feed, weed killers and moss control. This will quickly help the grass to start growing again and control any weeds that are present, plus kill off the moss that might have invaded the lawn over the winter.
Without food to develop side shoots and thickness, the lawn seed is also open to invasion by weed seeds and moss, that thrive in low nutrient conditions. On the other hand, a regular supply of supplementary food makes your lawn thick and green.
Spring and summer lawn feeding
Your lawn needs another type of feed come the autumn, which will keep the grass growing at a slow rate and not so lush, but still green. Also it prepares your lawn for the winter, by building up the roots and health of the grass to withstand the cold.
Feeding in autumn helps encourage strong root growth, so your lawn will recover quickly from a harsh winter and put on lush green growth in spring. Autumn feeding is actually the most important feed and integral part of lawn care!
Additionally, some have moss control added for any moss present. It’s important to feed with a specific autumn lawn food such as Miracle-Gro EverGreen Autumn Lawn Care, to get the grass ready for the colder, wetter weather in winter and get the lawn ready for spring. Autumn lawn feeds will be low in nitrogen, as we don’t want to encourage any top growth, which can be soft and easily burnt by frost.
But don’t fret; below are the descriptions and properties of the types of lawn feeds, including the specific benefits of each.
